Frequently asked questions.

A few of the most common questions people ask before reaching out. If yours isn't here, just send me a note, I'm happy to answer directly.

Do you take my insurance?

I'm in-network with Aetna and Carelon Behavioral Health. For other carriers, you'll be provided with a monthly superbill to submit for insurance reimbursement. Please verify your plan's out-of-network and telehealth coverage with your insurer.

Tell me about Telehealth.

Sessions take place on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform that's accessible via smartphone, tablet, or computer. Phone sessions are also offered as an alternative to video appointments, scheduled in advance.

Where do you see clients?

All sessions are virtual, so I work with clients anywhere in California. That includes the Bay Area (San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Palo Alto, San Jose), Sacramento and Davis, the Central Valley, Greater Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego. As long as you're physically located in California during our sessions, we can work together.

How do I know if this is a "good fit"?

The therapeutic relationship should feel supportive, inclusive, and collaborative. Our early sessions allow both of us to assess compatibility. We'll discuss any barriers together, and I'll provide referrals if needed.

How long will the therapy take and how can I get the most out of it?

The timeline varies based on individual circumstances and commitment. Success requires active participation in our sessions in addition to active practice between sessions, as meaningful progress occurs outside therapy too.

Will you be able to communicate with my child's other providers/school personnel?

Yes, I can collaborate with teachers, principals, and service providers when families find it beneficial. We'll discuss my participation and any limitations together ahead of time.

Still have questions?

No question is too small if it helps you decide whether therapy makes sense right now.
